INFOGRAPHIC New Data: Stays This Holiday Season Will Come At A Higher Price Worldwide

The holidays are right around the corner and travellers are keen to see their families. Individuals have continued to navigate COVID-19 to book trips – whether they be in drive-to destinations closer to home, in rural areas, or a staycation right in their own cities. This holiday season will be no different.

Though global reservation volume went up 5% in September compared to August of this year, when looking at booking numbers for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve, we are seeing significantly less reservations in the system this year than we did at the same time last year. The main trend we are noticing – those who book should expect to shell out more on stays and many are considering taking longer trips than they did over the holidays last year (not a surprise considering COVID-19 has resulted in work-from-home morphing into work-from-any-home).
